Excuse us please while we interrupt the regular features on this blog to take part in a competition!
On the Beach recently got in touch to ask if we’d like to take part in their “Beachin’ Beaches” comp. With an incredible prize of holiday vouchers to be won I thought I best give it a go, because me and my fellow blogger Verity would bloomin’ love the chance to go off on an adventure together :D
So here’s my interpretation of a ‘beachin beach’…
This beach is just a two minute walk from my friend Thea’s family home in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada. Whilst it may not be as picturesque as the Caribbean I love this beach because, to me, it represents so many wonderful summers with fantastic friends… as well as being the location for my first ever game of American football (I was terrible) at my first ever Thanksgiving.
Thea and her adorable son Zac are captured in the shot. It wasn’t too long after Zac had learnt to walk and it was fun to watch him explore the beach. In fact, only seconds after this photograph was taken, Zac decided to jump into the water fully clothed!
So that’s my ‘beachin’ beach’ on its way to the judges and now I’m having to type with my fingers crossed ;)
Wish us luck!

Dinovember is a concept introduced to the world by Refe Tuma via Medium. Every November, Refe and his wife devote their time to convincing their children that their toy dinosaurs come alive at night! And not just come alive, but even better, that they come alive and cause mischief! Any why? Well in Refe’s own words, “In the age of iPads and Netflix, we don’t want our kids to lose their sense of wonder and imagination. In a time when the answers to all the world’s questions are a web-search away, we want our kids to experience a little mystery. All it takes is some time and energy, creativity, and a few plastic dinosaurs.“
I love this so so much! I love the imagination and thought that goes into it, I love the idea of every morning for a whole month, it’s a little bit like Christmas magic and more importantly, I absolutely love the reason why they are doing this.
To see more of what the Dinos get up to, check out Refe’s post over at Medium, and if you adopt the tradition for yourselves, make sure you share your images on their facebook or twitter pages using the hashtag #dinovember.

The observant amongst you will have noticed that we have a brand new blog design for you today! Woohoo! We decided it was time for a refresh and we also wanted to make life a little easier for you, our wonderful readers. Therefore, we very much hope you like it! (Please do let us know… Eek!)
First the biggies – the removal of the banner image at the top allows you to get to our splendiferous (though we do say so ourselves) content more quickly! You will also notice that we have introduced a whole new colour scheme for your browsing delight. All of the navigation buttons are now together on the left-hand side of the page, along with our social network links (please don’t forget to follow us!) and vendors who are interested in advertising can click on the advertise link to request more information.
Have you been featured on belle bébés before? Or would you like to give us a virtual high five because you’re just lovely like that? Please take one of our badges and help to spread the belle bébés love!
Feature on belle bébés
And this isn’t new, but just a reminder; if you’d like to feature, as a parent, a photographer, a vendor or a guest blogger, just send an email to hello[at]bellebebes.co.uk and let us know about who you are! We’d love to hear from you!
Last but certainly not least, we have 2 HUGE thank yous to say to our fabulous brothers, without whom this redesign would not have become a reality and as both of whom have been driven crazy by our (mainly Debs’) unnatural attention to detail, it’s a minor miracle we got here at all! To Russell and Sam – we are forever indebted to you, we love you and, your beer is in the post ;)
