Joey Chou : 70s-style prints for the nursery

I love illustrator
Joey Chou’s work! The simple shapes he employs, the colour palette he paints with, and a style that’s reminiscent of children’s illustration from the 70s… it all adds up to equal awesome art that I know would look lovely on those nursery walls…

The Wizard of Oz

He also created 3 exclusive prints for the release of the movie “Oz: The Great and Powerful”. The last one’s my favourite :)

To get your hands on one of Joey’s prints head to his shop, you can even buy originals too! Just going to ‘favourite’ that link for the future… :)

Nursery art & illustration : Teagan White

I’m a big fan of woodland creatures, camping and the like. I think they go perfectly with childhood; perhaps because so much of my own was spent outdoors and in a tent! When it comes to finding the perfect piece of nursery art, woodland-related illustration always draws me in. These pieces by Teagan White are especially beautiful, and with their muted tones I can just imagine them being a calming focal point of a baby’s room.

Other than art…

Not only does Teagan offer art prints and canvases of her work, but also iPhone cases, laptop skins and even clothing. So if you’re a little in love with Teagan’s work yourself there are plenty of treats for you too.

Basically, you should head over to Teagan’s Society 6 shop for a spot of beautiful browsing :)

The Lamb King & the Carousel

I’ve shared a few cute cartoony prints on the blog as artwork ideas for a little one’s room. But time for something more fantastical and fairytale… I just love the prints by Pennsylvania-based Melissa, shared in her Etsy shop This Year’s Girl. Whilst some are more suitable for an older audience these in particular have a lovely childlike charm to them…

And even those that are a little older still evoke thoughts of fairytale princesses and far off lands, inspiring the dreaming that’s a requirement in childhood…

If you like these you must head on over to Melissa’s shop. She also creates beautiful jewellery using her prints, just perfect for us older princesses :)
