Playful toy decor

There are endless decor ideas out there. But, as you may know, we’re fans of things a little bit unusual. So, when it comes to your baby’s bedroom, we love the idea of incorporating some of that childhood playfulness in your decor decisions. And the way to do that? Repurpose toys!

Here are five incredible ideas that take existing toys and do something a little bit different with them. I think your children would love these ideas!

Awesome ideas:

  1. These wooden building block hooks are fancy enough for the adults but I also think they’d look lovely in a nursery. Via Remodelista
  2. Normal shelves are too boring! But skateboard shelves? So awesome! Via Decor Hacks
  3. When your child has grown out of playing with their plastic toys, this frame idea, via Achados de Decoracao, is a great way to repurpose them. A little more sophisticated than the toys themselves yet cool enough for the kid to get a kick out of their new decor piece.
  4. Although this is a Lego kitchen table I think this idea would make a most excellent desk for a toddler or teenager. Via Dwell.
  5. These awesome planters, via More Design Please, are the perfect way to introduce some greenery into the kid’s bedroom or playroom in a far from boring way.

Have you repurposed toys in your child’s bedroom in any way? If so, let us see please! :D

Festive decor: wall Christmas trees

We’re officially counting down to Christmas! Woo! And what better way to do it then a round up of alternative Christmas trees (actually I predict watching Love Actually and drinking snowballs is a better way but this will just have to do!)

When it comes to Christmas, I personally think tradition is pretty darn good. And so a big green tree would always be the main festive feature for me. However, sometimes it’s nice to deck the whole house out in decorations and I think today’s tree ideas would be perfect for the children’s rooms. Mainly because they’re on the wall so they’re less likely to get destroyed!

Tube Toys

Every parent knows that the age-old tradition of children finding more entertainment from the box than the gift is indeed a reality. Well with Tube Toys by Oscar Diaz, they’re supposed to! The toys are made out of the packaging, so massively reducing the waste, and in an age where over 30% of our rubbish is made up of packaging, that’s a pretty nifty feature :)

Pretty cool toys too hey? They’re available to pre-order here.
