Nursery inspiration : pastels & wood

Sometimes just one picture is all it takes to give you a whole load of inspiration for decorating a space.

Such as this awesome image styled by Linda Ahman and photographed by Therese Winberg

There are so many awesome ideas for a child’s bedroom, or a little one’s nursery in this image! I love the harlequin wallpaper, the pastel shades, the mulit-coloured set of drawers, the pale wooden toys that complement the pastels, the honeycomb balls and the assortment of jars that you could fill with small toys and colouring crayons.

Just one of these ideas would look lovely in a child’s room but I do love them all together too!

And for good measure, here’s a close-up of that cute wooden elephant sat atop the storage boxes…

Shabby chic and so beautiful…

Why does peeling paint look so pretty? It’s kind of odd that something that looks so old and worn can also look so lovely. But old furniture comes with a story, and I think it’s the sense it had a life before you owned it that makes it totally charming. Whatever attracts the eye to the dated look, there’s no denying that shabby chic is one of the biggest styles around! And you can even apply it to your child’s room, just as Mandy Lynne has done so beautifully in her daughter’s room.

A mix of pastels and patchwork, embroidered art and an assortment of precious finds it’s a little girl’s dream…

And photographer Mandy also sells beautiful prints in her Etsy shop Skippy Designs that would look lovely on a child’s walls…

OK so maybe they’re a little young for cocktails; those ones are just for you ;)
