Sweet sushi

Kid’s versions of grown up things can be a lot of fun to make with, or for, your children. Like candy sushi for example! I bloomin’ love sushi. It’s the number one obsession I brought back with me from Canada. But as someone with an insanely sweet tooth I think I’d actually struggle to decide which sushi I preferred. Savoury sushi or sweet sushi! Actually a perfect meal could consist of both ;)

Jordan & Dillan came up with this fantastic candy-filled version of the awesome Japanese dish. Although they’re using some American candies I’m sure you will still find suitable sweets over here in the UK…

And would you just look at the awesome results?!

I actually think this would make a fun gift for a sushi loving adult too!

Did you hear that Verity? ;)

Bento boxes

I’m not showing you these next images intending to inspire you to make lunches like this for your children, because frankly who has time?! This was confirmed when I read that Japanese parents are often working on their children’s bento boxes from 5am to 8am! Absolutely incredible but, despite knowing I’ll love my future children infinitely, I’d rather hand over a few sandwiches and have more sleep! However, on a special occasion like their birthday I’d love to give an amazing bento box a go.

And until then I will always admire the work that goes into something like this…

Brilliant balloons

My 30 year old brother was treated to one of these Japanese balloons for Christmas, because I simply couldn’t resist buying one! They’re probably a little more suitable for children though so I had to put them on the blog! The last image gives you an idea of size, they’re really not that big which makes them incredibly cute! They’re more like lanterns than regular balloons and therefore won’t pop! Just inflate by blowing into a hole and if you fancy flattening them you can, although why oh why would you ever flatten them?!

Japanese-Balloons

Priced at £2-£3 these balloons are really rather reasonable and for that reason I believe you should buy every single one in the shop and recreate that last image in your child’s room! So adorable! :)
