Rainy Day Project : Playroom stencils

The rain has been incessant where I live, and I’ve decided that the wintery months, or those with really rubbish weather, are for creative projects!

Nobody should be cooped up indoors redecorating when it’s sunny out, so if you have any makeovers planned I believe rainy weather is an ideal time.

And I have just the project to inspire you!

Ceiling stencils

I came across this delightful playroom from Simply Sadie Jane on Pinterest…

I’m sure we’ve all seen stencilling on walls before, ceiling stencilling however? Not so much. But doesn’t it look awesome?!

Sadie and her husband completely transformed a dull basement into a colourful playroom with those 3 paints and a polka dot stencil.

The addition of a chalkboard wall is excellent too. I bet the kids love their new room!

To get your own stencils a simple Google search should find companies local to you, there are also a multitude of different designs on Etsy.

Have you any rainy day projects planned?

Cool Closets - Furniture from Kast van een Huis

Storage solutions that work for both bedrooms and living areas don’t come along very often, but these skyscraper closets from Kast van een Huis, do just that! They come in three sizes from 180cm to 216cm tall, 3 different roof shapes and 10 standard colours, with custom colours also available, so they really can be made to suit any space. They are also the kind of furniture that is cute enough to work for young children but cool enough that it will grow with them.

I love the idea of hiding storage behind a cool skyline! And I just know that cupboards like these would set my girls’ imaginations on fire!
