Cuddly creations from Olga Wassupbrothers

This week is a little more hectic than most (mainly because I spent the last 5 days on holiday and am now playing catch up!)

So, whilst I haven’t the time to write many words, I’m still going to bring you lots of stupidly cute pictures courtesy of awesome crafter Olga Wassupbrothers…

Simply for Flying : flight logbook for children

If you’re taking the little ones on a plane for their holidays this year you should definitely check out the Simply for Flying log book. Flying can be a daunting and/or boring experience for children so the best way to approach it is as an adventure!

The log book was created by Bronwyn Darnoc after she couldn’t find a product, similar to the one she owned as a child, to record her son’s first flight adventure.

About the same size as a passport, the logbook has space for the child’s details and a photograph, along with 42 flight logs & journal pages for the captain and crew to fill in. It contains a message to the captain/crew explaining what the logbook is all about and educational information such as a world map, time zone chart and altitude/distance/temperature conversions.

I particularly love the examples of what captains have written in some of the logbooks. It would be wonderful for a child to receive these messages!

With a tick list for countries visited and a pocket at the back for boarding ticket stubs or other mementoes, this book would make a lovely gift for any child embarking on their first flying adventure!

To find out more, or buy a logbook for your children, head over to the Simply for Flying website.

My Beachin’ Beach : An ‘On the Beach’ competition

Excuse us please while we interrupt the regular features on this blog to take part in a competition!

On the Beach recently got in touch to ask if we’d like to take part in their “Beachin’ Beaches” comp. With an incredible prize of holiday vouchers to be won I thought I best give it a go, because me and my fellow blogger Verity would bloomin’ love the chance to go off on an adventure together :D

So here’s my interpretation of a ‘beachin beach’…

On the Beach Competition Entry

This beach is just a two minute walk from my friend Thea’s family home in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada. Whilst it may not be as picturesque as the Caribbean I love this beach because, to me, it represents so many wonderful summers with fantastic friends… as well as being the location for my first ever game of American football (I was terrible) at my first ever Thanksgiving.

Thea and her adorable son Zac are captured in the shot. It wasn’t too long after Zac had learnt to walk and it was fun to watch him explore the beach. In fact, only seconds after this photograph was taken, Zac decided to jump into the water fully clothed!

So that’s my ‘beachin’ beach’ on its way to the judges and now I’m having to type with my fingers crossed ;)

Wish us luck!
