I’m not really a fan of character birthday themes. But when I say this I’m imagining more Ben Ten and Dora the Explorer types of characters. Of course, often it’s whatever will make your child happy and if they really wanted a character-themed birthday then it may be easier to have one! Other characters though I love the idea of. And when I saw this beautiful idea to have a baby’s first birthday be styled on The Very Hungry Caterpillar I adored it! I guess it’s all in the style of illustration for me: The Very Hungry Caterpillar is more work of art than cartoon :)
Pottery Barn have put together a few fantastic ideas for this theme along with instructional videos. And of course it would be easy to decide on what to serve up as snacks… just refer directly to what the caterpillar eats in the book!
